Honey Show Cancelled

It will no doubt come as little surprise to hear that the Honey Show for 2020 has been cancelled.  A provisional booking has been made for Friday 12th November 2021 in anticipation of being able to hold a physical event next year.

Any member awarded a trophy at the Honey Show in 2019 please keep hold of the trophy until next year.

This is the time of year when bees swarm. Swarms are not usually dangerous but should only be approached or moved by people who know what they’re doing. Each year WBKA provides a free swarm collection service and following advice from DEFRA, during the Coronavirus epidemic, WE ARE STILL ABLE TO COLLECT SWARMS in 2020, but must observe social distancing restrictions and will not be prepared to enter homes.

For more information please see the swarms page.

Site Upgrade

The new WBKA web site was launched today. Hopefully it’ll be easier to use on mobiles and tablets.

Everything should be working properly, but please let me know if you come across any broken links or other problems.

Similarly if you’d like to contribute any content, such as photos or links to useful sites or videos please let me know via the contacts page.
