Overnight we had the first snow of the winter.

Wild colonies are living with varroa, perhaps it’s time for managed colonies to do the same..?

The YBKA program for 2019 BBKA Module study days is now live on the YBKA website. Online booking is now open, but places are limited.

Unfortunately, due to illness, today’s Nosema day has been cancelled.

The spring edition of Combings will be sent out after Easter. If you have any contributions in the form of articles, photos, beekeeping queries, items for sale or anything else you’d like to bring to the attention of your fellow members, please contact Rhona via the contacts page.

The deadline for contributions is Good Friday, 19th April.

On Monday 10 June we will be visiting the NBU at Sand Hutton near York. There are 15 places available and we will be running a mini bus on the day. If you would like to go, please contact Linda, the membership secretary via the Contact page.

Tom Seeley’s presentation to the 2017 National Honey Show, explaining the fascinating ways that bees organise themselves in the hive, including the newly discovered “Beep”.
